What was this conference all about?
C2D2
(Canadian Community for Dialogue and Deliberation), in partnership with
Toronto Community Housing, held their 3rd international
conference in Toronto. Over the course of four days, participants had
the opportunity to exchange ideas, techniques, tools, and experiences
in the practice of Dialogue and Deliberation through an exciting series
of workshops, presentations, facilitated discussions, and speakers.
There was a dynamic blend of doers and thinkers, of young and old, of
new and of tried and true. Participants work in and with communities,
whether local or international, to make them stronger or are simply
keen to improve the health of democracies, be it in Canada or beyond
our shores.
How was Sanitas Playback Theatre involved?
Sanitas
Playback Theatre gave a performance to close the conference, which
offered the participants a chance to reflect and share their
experiences of the entire gathering in the dynamic way that's unique to
playback theatre. The strong links in values and methodologies between C2D2 and Sanitas Playback Theatre were deeply leveraged.
Brie Barker, our artistic director, also led a workshop at the conference, titled Playback Theatre: Setting the Stage for Empathic Deliberation.
What did our client have to say?
"We want to extend our sincere
thanks for delivering
the Sanitas Playback Theatre performance which closed the conference – a unique
and moving close to say the least!"
